The Position

The National Women’s Law Center (NWLC) is seeking spring semester interns (January-May) and summer interns (May-August) for our Child Care Group. Interns would ideally be part-time during the spring and full-time during the summer. Start and end dates are flexible. Spring internships are credit based. Summer internships can be paid or credit based. Please visit to learn more about the various internship programs that NWLC offers.

The Organization

The National Women’s Law Center fights for gender justice — in the courts, in public policy, and in our society — working across the issues that are central to the lives of women and girls.

We use the law in all its forms to change culture and drive solutions to the gender inequity that shapes our society and to break down the barriers that harm all of us — especially those who face multiple forms of discrimination, including women of color, LGBTQ people, and low-income women and families.

For more than 45 years, we have been on the leading edge of every major legal and policy victory for women, and we need you with us to continue this fight.

Students with majors in English, education, political science, public policy, pre-law, history, sociology and women’s studies are encouraged to apply; however, all majors will be considered. Both undergraduate and graduate students are welcome to apply. Law students who are interested in policy work and legislative advocacy are also encouraged to apply.

The Child Care intern’s responsibilities will include, conducting research, writing newsletter articles, drafting blogs, fact sheets, or other materials, attending and summarizing relevant meetings and calls, and other tasks as needed.
