Intern Duties and Responsibilities
The National Women’s Law Center seeks a summer legal intern to work with our Legal Director and with the Director of the TIME’S UP Legal Defense Fund. The Center focuses on major policy areas of importance to women and their families including economic security, education, employment, health, and reproductive rights. The student selected will work with our Legal Director on litigation across the Center’s program areas and the Director of the TIME’S UP Legal Defense Fund on a variety of tasks including intake related interviews and case analysis for litigation potential. The selected intern may also work with other attorneys during the internship. NWLC will provide students with varied work assignments which may also include outreach to the community about the TIME’S UP Legal Defense Fund, legal research, drafting pleadings, writing articles and fact sheets, and attending outreach and policy related events. The NWLC office is a friendly environment with many opportunities to learn and make professional connections with activist lawyers in the women’s rights field and broader advocacy communities in DC.
