IN THE COURTS

For almost half a century, the National Women’s Law Center has leveraged the law in the courts to protect and expand sex-based rights and work towards greater gender justice.

Whether litigating our own cases or filing amicus briefs in support of others’ cases, NWLC advocates for women’s existing legal rights and advances new protections by participating in key cases all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court. While our wins have been significant, the work before us is still considerable, and NWLC will not rest—whether we’re fighting for the right to make personal decisions about our reproductive health, the right to equal opportunities in the workplace and schools, or a range of legal protections that promote a world free of sex discrimination. Our NWLC work in the courts is led by Legal Director, Sunu Chandy, alongside attorneys from across our program areas.
