Are you ready? The 40th anniversary of Title IX is coming up fast, and we hope you’ll join us in commemorating the occasion! Forty years of breaking down barriers for women and girls is a spectacular achievement, and we want to mark this milestone and launch Title IX forward into its next 40 years and beyond. But we need your help!
Please join NWLC on Thursday, June 21 for a blog carnival to honor 40 years of Title IX! Whether you want to blog about the intricacies of the law or talk about a personal experience relating to it, we want to hear your story.
HERE’S WHAT YOU CAN DO: Participating in our blog carnival is easy! All you need to do is write a blog post (or more than one, if you’re so inclined!) reflecting on the importance of Title IX and let us know about it. Need some ideas to get your started writing? Maybe you could:
And remember: Title IX is about more than sports. Do you have a story about the science and technology fields, about school bullying and harassment, or about pregnant and/or parenting students? Title IX reaches all those issues – and we want to hear those stories, too!
HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR POST: once you’ve finalized your blog post, please send the URL to NWLC’s Danielle Jackson at firstname.lastname@example.org by COB on June 19 to be sure it’s included in the blog carnival when it first goes live on June 21. We’ll be adding more links on a rolling basis after that, so if you can’t have your blog post in by the June 19 deadline, just send it over ASAP once it’s ready!
NWLC will be publishing links in one big blog carnival compilation post, and we’ll also be tweeting throughout the day using the hashtag #T9blog. So if you’re on Twitter, join in!
Please do let us know if you’re planning on participating! Even if you can’t participate at this time, please forward this invitation to friends you think might be interested. Have any other questions or need some more information? Just send an email to Danielle Jackson at email@example.com for more.
Thanks for all that you do to support Title IX!
