(Washington, D.C.)  President Trump’s budget blueprint for the coming fiscal year was released this morning. It proposes a broad array of cuts that will hurt millions of women and families.

The following is a statement by Anna Chu, NWLC Vice President for Income Security and Education:

“The Trump budget is an outrageous plan to balance the federal budget on the backs of women and their families. It would slash and dismantle programs that help women keep a roof over their heads, protect their health, secure child care, get job training, go to college, and meet basic needs as they age.  Despite his promises on the campaign trail to be a President for everyone, Trump has repeatedly protected the wealthy at the expense of ordinary families. It’s time for a budget that expands opportunity and increases economic security for everyone.”
