Information Center

Welcome to the National Women's Law Center's Information Center. NWLC is a non-profit organization that has been working since 1972 to expand the possibilities for women and their families at work, in school, and in virtually every aspect of their lives. NWLC focuses on major concerns of women and girls, including family economic security, education, employment opportunities, and health, with special attention given to the concerns of low-income women.

In this section, you can learn more about our work by viewing Expanding the Possibilities for Thirty-Five Years, a timeline of NWLC's history and accomplishments. You can check out our 2007-2008 Annual Report, most recent newsletter, our 2008, 2006, 2005, and 2004  highlights, our general brochure, or our current priorities. You can read our most recent monthly online newsletter and view an archive of previous editions. You can also read the biographies of our Co-Presidents, Marcia D. Greenberger and Nancy Duff Campbell, the biographies of our Vice Presidents, or view a list of our staff or a list of our Board of Directors. For more in-depth information, be sure to visit our issue sections.

This is where you can read our news releases and view our published opinion editorials and published letters to the editor. Members of the press who are writing about issues of concern to women and their families are encouraged to call our communications department at 202-588-5180 to be put in touch with one of our nationally-recognized legal experts.

You are also invited to browse our publications on topics such as sexual harassment, child support and child care, and career education for girls and women.

Also in this section, you can learn more about starting or continuing a career in advancing and protecting the rights of women and their families. NWLC has job and internship opportunities currently available.

Unfortunately, NWLC is able to take on only a few cases each year -- if you need a lawyer for your individual case, one or more of the following organizations may be able to help you.
