A MILESTONE FOR HEALTH REFORM
Final Legislation Must Meet Women’s Needs

(Washington, DC)  Today the Senate Finance Committee voted to report out its health care bill – taking it to the Senate floor to be merged with the HELP bill.

The following is a statement by Marcia D. Greenberger, Co-President of the National Women’s Law Center (NWLC):

“The Senate Finance Committee vote marks another important milestone on the road toward a healed health care system, bringing the country further in health reform than at any other time in U.S. history.

“Now both the House and the Senate have the critically important task of passing legislation that ensures quality, affordable health care that truly meets the needs of women and their families.”
